Search engine optimisation (SEO)

Included in my design work is presentation and editing of your content in a way that will appeal to search engines, and submission of the site to Google and others for "natural" indexing. I achieve good results for my sites for their chosen keywords simply through search-engine friendly page construction. Although there can be no guarantees with search engine positioning, decent results (top 20 at least, for your selected keywords) are readily available if the site is put together properly. I also draw on the expertise and latest SEO thinking provided by the "guru" in this field, Jill Whalen.

Search engines change their algorithms from time to time, and periodically sites are re-indexed and re-ordered. But the last time I looked, this site was doing well in the top 10 natural Google results for "web design Somerset", the main key phrase the site is targeted at. I can also provide examples of my customers' sites that rank well, and sites of other similar businesses designed elsewhere, that don't. And separately, I can run an Adwords campaign for you to support your natural ranking.

There are some other SEO tips and tricks which will help boost your site's natural position over time. Most are aimed at boosting your Google Page Rank, i.e. the perceived level of authority that Google has assigned to your site. Some of them I can do, and some of them require action on your part, so this tends to become more of a team effort between myself and each client.
