Here are the most common prices I am asked for, please
get in touch for details of items not covered here. Everything is clearly
itemised on Quickbooks invoices so you know the costs incurred.
Web designs and web space
Priced "per-page",
plus a set-up fee. A "page"
is equivalent to a page of A4 text and graphics, although large amounts
of scanning or coding (e.g. Javascript), animations, and software licences
are charged extra. Roughly, an average 3 page
static site would be £235+VAT, 5 pages £325+VAT,
and 10 pages £550+VAT. Content-managed/dynamic or e-commerce sites
start from £500+VAT. Hosting starts from 20MB of web
space managed
on your behalf by myself, for £85+VAT PA. Some clients run
two or three static sites within this quota. Larger 50MB or 100MB chunks
are available.
Domain name registration, hosting and administration
A
two-yearly fee of £60+VAT covers everything to do with
your domain name, from finding a suitable one (if required), registering
it through the appropriate authority, hosting it and setting up
the email routing (including basic spam filtering), and troubleshooting
any domain-related problems as we go along, to acting as your domain administrator
for ICANN or Nominet matters.
Small adwords campaigns (<=£1000 monthly budget)
and search
engine optimisation
£75+VAT setup fee, and then
a management fee which works out to about 150% of your monthly Google
Adwords budget, which
includes your Google fee payment, the invoice for which must be settled
in the following month for the campaign to continue. Click
here for SEO price details.
Web site statistics and live chat
Simple stats for referrals, popular pages, keywords used to find you, etc., based
on the rolling last 500 hits to your site can be set up free of charge. Real-time
statistics with live
chat and call-back facilities
are available from £10+VAT per month plus a £75+VAT set-up fee.
Maintenance and site visits
Site maintenance is £35+VAT per hour. On-site
visits, e.g. for the Contribute, Actinic or
Whoson tools,
are billed at a higher rate
including half of travel time. Small site updates, email
and phone support for clients (unless otherwise advised) are all free.
There is no premium rate number to call.
Do-it-yourself
If the above costs are too hot for you, you could consider a
do-it-yourself web site solution. The Website Tonight package offered
by GoDaddy is
a popular choice, you assemble and maintain the site yourself using the
control panel and templates provided, and the web hosting is included
in the monthly fee.
